Safeguarding God's People: Preventing Sexual Harassment and Sexual Exploitation: St. Luke's, Waldpor

Safeguarding God’s People: Preventing Sexual Harassment and Sexual Exploitation provides training for clergy, members, employees, volunteers, and church leaders about sexual exploitation between clergy or church leaders and those they serve.

The goal of this program is to prevent sexual exploitation in The Episcopal Church, to encourage adults to report to church leaders when they see signs of sexual exploitation, and to give Episcopalians a language with which to talk about the issue of sexual exploitation.

This is required training for:

  •     All members of the clergy whether stipendiary or non-stipendiary
  •     All interns and persons in the ordination process
  •     All paid employees and unpaid staff members
  •     All unpaid lay leadership (wardens, vestry/BAC members, members of other boards)
  •     All others who volunteer themselves for church-related service
  •     Pastoral Leaders, Worship Leaders, Preachers, Eucharistic visitors, and Catechists
  •     Stephen ministers, spiritual directors, counselors, peer mentors, lifecoaches, etc.
